My politics were put under scrutiny on M-I earlier this year. I have
always argued on this list that, as far as humanly possible, we should
speak to each other as individuals and not as representatives of
organisations. But for those who are interested try

Not that it's relevant to any argument, but my parents came from County
Cork (Skibereen). My mother saw the body of Michael Collins shortly
after he was killed. (Let's see what the Freudians make of that!). My
full name is Lewis Higgins; it's abbreviated in my email because that's
how my friend's software is set up and it is thanks to her that I can
get on the internet.

I can go along with that. I suppose you could describe my politics as
anti-Leninist Marxism. What I really dislike in the Leninist/Trotskyist
approach to Ireland, etc is how manipulative it is; the workers are so
much cannon fodder in the greater glory of building the party.
