I see the editors of the good ole' *New York Times* (also known as the ZCR
NYT, but that's another story) caved in to the blandishments of the State
Department, and *didn't* run that warm, fuzzy picture of Chinese "dissident"
(and probable CIA asset) Wei Jingsheng on their front page.

Protocol, I guess.

Of course, such a display would have been a little obvious. This man,
clearly, is not in need of "US medical care". After years of dire reports
of his "health problems", it turns out that Wei has...shingles! Never mind,
he is being flown here and there (first class, no less!) for "heart
treatments", "lung ailments", and dental work. Whose paying for all this?
The CIA?

We can't or won't take care of our citizens. many of whom are left to die on
the street with physical problems dwarfing those ostensibly suffered by Mr
Wei. Yet here he is in the *Times*! Oh, the "generosity" of expectant capital!

I wonder: if a real "dissident" were released from, say, an Israeli
Concentration Camp in the Negev, would s/he be accorded gratis first-class
air travel, free medical treatment and a photo op in the ZCR NYT?

Yeah, right.
