All were working class, broadly defined, but then, so wasn't Ms Woodward.
The Eappens, I guess, are members of that detestable species known as
libertarian "yuppies", first visible during the Carter years, but lately in
eclipse hereabouts.
My main point, which everyone seems to have ignored, is that the hegemonic
nature of our culture is such that it is difficult to achieve justice for
*anyone* who has been denounced by the State. Juries are, with rare
exceptions, drawn from a population that is literally stupified with class
propaganda. The popular hostility to Barry Scheck (the main defense
counsel) underscores this salient point. He has yet to be forgiven for the
supreme crime of helping to free a black man for the killing a white woman.
