Whatever the colour of his skin, Sunil and partner are members
of the 'middle class' whilst the nanny comes from a working class
background. Her dad works as a joiner.

Many families in the USA employ foreign child care youngsters
because they are cheaper than North American ones. So the
whole situation is akin to other instances where immigrant labour
is utilized to 'under-cut' home labour.

More than one commentator over here in the UK have pointed out that
the nanny's composure and lack of emotional display worked
against her, but her deference and behaviour fits into working
class culture.(Let alone the fact that she was probably scared
	out of her wits!)

Other journalists have drawn attention to the fact that the verdict
could also be seen as a response to the fact that the legal team
for the nanny got OJ Simpson off and therefore needed to be
	'punished'.

Plus one of the lawyers for the prosecution came 'from the wrong side
of the tracks' having worked his way through college etc.

His performance in the closing address was pure under-played and
under-stated drama, Hollywood even, just the like summing up
scene in the movie 'A Time to Kill', with some of the questions of
that film being applicable to this case.

So, given the complex and contradictory details and numerous
interpretations of the trail, i venture to propose that the verdict
was in keeping with what you over in the USA would call
	'white trash' politics?
