Even mainstream development economists like Michael Todaro suggest that
possibly only about  one-third of the countries in the world could ever
reach the highly industrialized status we reserve for  the US, most of
Europe, Japan, Australia, etc.

Boddhi, I was quite impressed by your post about debt  bonds. Stick to
writing about what you know, which definitely does not include the oil
business.
We discussed this while you were away. Check the archives. Oil is
finite. We've used a third of it. The best estimates are that oil
production will start to decline within 3 years. Caspian oil doesn't
change any of that. As for me, I'm not opposed to third worlders living
like you and I do, I'm opposed to people saying they can when they
can't, and then blaming the messenger for the message when they are told
so. Don't include me on your guilt trip.
