In Mike Haynes: _Was there a parliamentary alternative in 1917?_ from
International Socialism Journal 76 (Autumn 1997) there are several
references to material on or by Menshevik as well as "liberal" leaders (in
English as well as in Russian). (The article is 60 pages.)

The article is available online at:
http://www.internationalsocialist.org/pubs/isj.html
(Go to issue 76 and download from there - or read online.)

Well, I think the Mike Haynes article gives a very good answer to that:
Negative.
The article takes a closer look at the strategies, ideas and actions of the
reformists and the liberals in 1917 - and concludes that the victory of the
Bolsheviks was came from 1) The actions of the Bolsheviks themselves, but
just as much from 2) The failure of the perspective of the reformists and
the liberals.
The period from Feb to Oct was first of all the period in which these ideas
were fought out.

Hope you can use some of this.

Yours

Jorn
