It is true there is no possible way to spread a virus through plain text
e-mail. The only way for a virus to get on your computer is through an
executable file. Another words it is perfectly safe to  read any mail
message and not worry about getting a virus. Just be careful always of
what executables you might get with attached with some messages. Do not
save or execute executables or attachments you are not 100% sure of its
origination and contents.
