Subject: M-I: Unfree Labor

To what extent did unfree labor (slavery, convict labor, indentured
servitude etc.)--as opposed to free wage labor--contribute to the emergence
and early development of capitalist agriculture and industrialization in
the U.S. and other countries? Any suggested readings on this question will
be greatly appreciated.
