Look, you smug patronizing little fuckhead, I've read lots and lots of
Marx, much of it many times. There is not a hell of a lot there about
gender. That doesn't make Marx bad or wrong. Some subsequent Marxists have
written about gender, but it was never, at least until recently, a central
theoretical or political concern in the tradition. Many Marxists -
including Chris Warren, except when claiming that Marxism has always been
concerned with The Woman Question - have denounced feminism as a
"bourgeois" movement. Kollontai was banished to Oslo in 1922 after being
denounced by Lenin.

Warren's hysterical reaction in fact proves the point I was making - that
gender is a sore spot for classical Marxists.

I'm waiting for Warren to say a word or two about Marxism's recruitment
problem. Or is it all a matter of a few secret agents who ruined everything?

Doug
