Dear CGF

I would like to bring your attention to a campaign which needs support.
Please pass on this information.

FREE SATPAL RAM

Satpal Ram was on the receiving end of a racist attack in a Birmingham
restaurant in 1986. He was forced to defend himself and one of his six
attackers died after refusing medical treatment. Satpal was charged with
and subsequently convicted of his murder.

Satpal has consistently fought his conviction and as a result has been
subjected to systematic abuse: Physical attacks, solitary confinement,
censorship of letters and frequent moves from prison to prison. During his
twelve years of incarceration he has been in nearly every UK prison. This
is a strategy designed to undermine his struggle and sabotage his chances
of parole.

Satpal's spirit however is not broken. He is constantly educating himself
and supporting other peoples' struggles. His case is a miscarriage of
justice on a par with those of the Birmingham Six and Bridgewater Four
whose campaigns he supported.

He would greatly appreciate letters of support and any articles or
magazines you might like to send him. Please write to;
