Louis Godena's post deserves a thoughtful reply and I will give it that - I
promise.  But first, my dismissal of Irish Maoism was not at all 'off
hand'.  It was informed by a deep loathing for a group of people who put
Marxism in the service of imperialism.  This is what Irish Marxism did when
it hailed the client state of Northern Ireland as an independent nation.  

It is not for nothing that Cockshott caled me an anti-semite when I said
that Northern Ireland was to British Imperialism what Israel was to
American Imperialism.


My original point remains the same though.  The shameful disasters
occasioned by Irish Maoism are the kind of compromises we get into when we
lose sight of the main goal - the emancipation of humanity.  Which is
precisely the teritory that Louis Godena and I will contest.
