     My only post for the day... (I know, I'm bragging).
     I would like to kindly ask those who have let the 
discussion regarding this thread degenerate into a flaming 
sectarian war to cool it, please.  This list used to have a 
lot of that (I admit to having engaged in some of it 
myself).  The list has been much better since that has 
mostly disappeared.  Let it get back to that, please.
     To Neil: I empathize with your frustration (in fact, I 
feel your pain! :-)) as a school teacher in this country 
who is forced to spoon feed young students all kinds of 
garbage and baloney out of textbooks which you have had no 
authority in selecting.  I can understand that you might 
easily come to wish to discredit anything and everything 
that is said in those textbooks, even when it might have 
some iota of factuality behind it.
