I think we should all agree to disagree on things like Castro, Che and
moribund revolutions.  Jim's remark about people who have never "achieved
anything politically" and who will never "win" a revolution is silly and
could just as easily apply to himself.  One does not suspend one's critical
judgement of, say, politicians, merely because one has not himself held
public office.  

Castro and Che belong to a time other than the present, an era, perhaps,
when winning basic social amenities like free health care and universal
education could only be done by armed confrontation with the state.  These
are now Second International demands, and have little to do with defeating
capitalism or liquidating the exploiting class.  Perhaps Jim is right;
Castro has been "forced" to accomodate himself to imperialism and outright
reaction.  Fujimori, at least, does not occupy Guantanamo.  Yet, it is
disconcerting to remember that, in all probability, if Hitler were alive and
ruling Argentina, Castro would be in bed with him, too.
