Subject: M-I: Ford and torture on Argentines

El 30 Mar 98 a las 21:32, Dennis Grammenos nos dice(n):

>
> FORD COMPLICIT IN ARGENTINE TORTURE
>
> Some Argentine workers who were disappeared under the military
> dictatorship were detained and tortured in a clandestine
> detention center at Ford Motor Company's factory in an industrial
> suburb of Buenos Aires ... The documents reveal that the victims
> were selected for detention, torture and execution in consultation
> with management at Ford's Argentine subsidiary, which provided the
> military with facilities in Ford's General Pacheco plant and even
> donated vehicles to transport prisoners to military prisons and

> workers and union members.

1. This is not all. There was a heliport at the plant, used by the Army
pilots. And it has been said --I knew some Ford militants personally
by those times-- that the military government "paid" the favors by
directly intervening in production: gunmen were placed along the
assembly lines.

Se non e vero, e ben trovato... Perhaps Lou P may have some information
from Argentine sources of those years.

The behavior of Ford is no surprise, particularly if you think that
the Economy Minister of those years was Jose Antonio Martinez de Hoz,
the Chairman of the Consejo Empresario Argentino. The Consejo
Empresario represented (and represents) the most concentrate
fractions of capital in my country, and has a strong influence of
American corporations --and, behind the scenes, American embassy.
This organization acts as a shadow government of sorts.

2. Been very busy and with communications problems, but will return
soon. I have read the mails concerning Peru and I have some things to
say on them.

Regards to all,
