     A little while ago I provided a list of possible 
things that "capital" is, including "social relation."  
Orthodox sectarians on this list, like dear old Carrol Cox, 
think that is ALL it is.  Sorry, kids, the answer to my 
question is "all of the above and more."  One of those more 
includes "the biosphere."
     BTW, I fully agree that Marx declared the "social 
relation" aspect to be the most important, and indeed one 
can find quotes where he essentially (oops, 
non-Marxist category) declared "that's what it is." But he 
knew better and elsewhere recognized its more 
multidimensional status.
