You and Godena think that railing at Jesse Jackson on a >Marxism list serves some useful purpose, but it doesn't. It is roughly the >equivalent of sticking pins in a voodoo doll. Old Jesse won't feel a thing. The pages of *New Left Review*, *Race and Class*, and *Monthly Review* are full of "brilliant analyses". So what? It doesn't amount to a hill of beans if people aren't listening. And they're not. Jesse Jackson is a pimp for the Democrat Party, just as Vernon Jordon is Clinton's personal pimp. One procures bodies for votes, the other procures the same for sex. Neither have much credibility with anyone, anymore. Jesse Jackson got seven million votes in 1988. He'll be lucky to get 700,000 in year 2000, if he runs. He, of course, won't. So it is really not necessary to stick pins in dolls, is it? What *is* necessary, in my view, is to point out the extent to which the Western Left has absorbed the malfeasance and corruption of the capitalist system, and to the extent which it has succumbed to the blandishments of that system. Of course, the mass of people already understand this. It is the Left itself which can't seem to figure it out. Louis GE --- from list marxism-international-AT-lists.village.virginia.edu ---
