Subject: M-INTRO: black market?



I am sure that there is no argument that capitalism has lead many 
times to black market activity (bootlegging during prohibition, 
illegal drugs, cigarettes, cuban cigars, etc) as well as the sub-
terranian economy (working under the table, off the books etc) which 
even by conservative economic estimation reduces the U.S. GDP by 15-
20%.  It is worse in socialist societies? I hear horror studies 
whereby for example new and used levi jeans that sell for $15-40 a 
pair here in the states will sell for 10 times that overseas.  Did 
Marx account for it and if not how would a Marxist explain it?
