In response to Tolkien, I am always glad when I hear of other people that
aren't hanging on the media's every word as gospel. With information about
terrorism and war flying at us left and right, it is hard to sort out what
is really going on and what our government chooses to tell us. When I see
footage of anti-American protests in other countries, and of people dancing
in the streets, I think it is a good idea to step back and ask yourself, is
there anything the government of my country has done that might make it more
understandable why there are millions of people in this world that are so
anti-American? Yes, the United States spends millions of dollars every year
in humanitarian efforts in other countries...that is, other countries they
have economic interests in. There are many other examples, but I encourage
people to do research for themselves, and try getting some of their
information from other media outlets.
