Subject: M-INTRO: marx and communism?

It was my understanding that communists used many ideas of Marx but 
distorted his true meaning and used these incorrect veiws to rally people 
around the communist cause.  Marx in fact disagreed with much of what the 
communist party stands for and would never have supported them.  Is this 
true?  If it is it shows how strong propaganda can be because many people 
associate communism and Marx together...I don't know too much about 
communism, but from what I know of Marx, he would have definitely 
disapproved of the way communism has presented itself in the world.
