I would have to say other wise because both politicians have a lot of money and have the same right in a race. Bobcat stated: The incumbent party in elected offices in the US always has a decided > >advantage, whether that party is Republican or Democrat. This is, in my > >opinion, because the Bush-Cheney camp has more (seemingly) "credible" >people > >in its ranks currently. Collin Powell, Carl Rove, Donald Rumsfeld, etc. >are > >high-ranking Republicans and are at no loss for chances to support Bush and > >have a LOT of people hear their views. They can throw pro-Bush blurbs in > >anywhere: in a defense debriefing, a peace summit in Cairo, or in any of a > >million other places. > I would agree with part of this and some what not. Yes the Republicans have the advantage of having the house Republican because it has a lot of ways of promoting that side, but to disagree i would say that it may persuede the undicide but not the people from the other side. They either agree or disagree. If the topic is a hot one like the war. It may hurt the Republican side. So in many ways there are pros and cons to this making it an even race. Also there are the week events to promote the Parties. I also think that it is hard to say that the Bush or Clinton in the past got the most press. The Election is a huge and the most important thing going on so i think that both sides will be heard. The thing on that Kerry and Edwards have the disadvantage to this race because no one has heard about them. Well they have that risk and if they want to have a chance they need to have people now who they are. I think everyone knows who they are maybe not what he stands for. Well to finish this up I think that competion of any sort is one by the smarter, stronger (maybe not physically in this point but mentally with the bad things thrown at you), and most determined. In this case to get is point across for the viewer to hear. --- from list marxism-intro-AT-lists.village.virginia.edu ---
