Recently I attended a conference with a few people from a former communist
country in the eastern block. They were there getting information that they
could take back to their country and help them build certain aspects of
there economy. I was impressed with their youthfulness and how knowledgeable
they were. What really caught my attention was how complicated the American
way of doing things can be to outsiders. They looked absolutley overwhelmed
at times by the information that was flowing at the conference. I felt
concerned for them and wished them the best as the conference ended. This
experience did make me aware of how long it has taken the American system to
get where it is today. The systems we use in so many aspects of our
businesses are the product of natural evolution, which every country must
experience for themselves.
