As someone who is absolutely sick of the irrelevant "flip-flop" question,
I'll offer up the following:

The great John Maynard Keynes was also considered by many to be a
flip-flopper. And he had a great comeback. Once, when attacked by a critic
on these grounds, he said, "When I get new information, I change my mind.
What do you do, sir?"

To me, that put a lot into perspective. Suddenly, a man changing his mind
on the issues doesn't seem like such a big screaming deal. With the rate
that information changes nowadays, is it not surprising that opinions and
ideas change so rapidly as well. One's propensity towards changing his mind
or not seems like a silly thing to base a campaign on.

Geek seems to be singling out one of the candiates here as a story telling
fisherman, but aren't both equally the same? I mean hasn't Bush done his
own flip flopping (such as "I KNOW that Iraq has WMD's", but now it's only
"well the world is safer without Saddam in power"). I'm not promoting Bush
over Kerry or that one is better over the other, just that they are both
trying to spin what they do and say to have the greatest advantage for
themselves.
