Yes, I don't have the Ehrbar, just a copy of Capital v1. My version of 
chapter 1 s4 does not have the words "finished" or "surface" but maybe that's 
because I have a different translation.   So many people have distorted what Marx 
says that I think it's important that we look at Marx's actual quotations. Can 
you provide the ACTUAL QUOTATION(S) from Capital where Ehrbar makes these 
questions? (Note: I am not saying you're distorting Marx, I just want to understand 
where you're coming from in talking about "Marx's
explanation of the need to not begin with the facts." Thanks.
In general, I think those of us seeking to understand Marx should refer to 
Marx's actual texts, and then decide for ourselves. There are a myriad of 
commentaries on Marx all extrapolating in hugely varying ways on what he said, 
representing a number of very distinct political ideologies, leftist sects, etc. so 
we must be careful.
