Subject: M-INTRO: Political Capital

Probably in part because I would bet that I am one of the most politically
conservative participants at marx-intro I am interested to know what you all
think about George W. Bush's statement recently that he has "earned political
capital" and that he intends to "spend it." I thought that his wording and the
use of the word capital was particularly interesting.

Given that both sides of the political spectrum can say really dumb things or
just rant about their anger, I hope we can keep it to intelligent conversation.
I'm not going to ask Buckfush to change their pseudonym, but it does make me
wonder what kind of logic would lead someone to choose such a name.

Also, this is an interesting map and it goes back to a comment I was challenged
on a few weeks ago, that the divide today is largely urban to rural
politically.
