In response to DIESEL submission,
I just wanted to make a 2 corrections & clarify some things that DIESEL
mentioned regarding the movie, Boiler Room. First, The stock brokers in the
movie were criminals. Some new that what they were doing was illegal some did
not. The stock brokers did not invest the clients money to legitimate
companies. The companies was just a front to set up IPO oppurtunities so they
can make money when the stock was introduced in the market. The brokers in the
movie, hyped up a companies potential and sold stocks of companies that did not
exist. Then the top people that was involved in the scam would dump all their
shares and take everyones money. Creating sort of junk stocks. Second thing I
wanted to clarify is regarding the statement ""to make a quick buck you either
have to sling crack rock or have a wicked jump shot." This statement is a
statement made by the rapper Notorious B.I.G. referring to African American
males. Seems that only these days, for black male to make moeny, is to be good
at either or. The american way of life these days seems to be "let the
strongest survive." Everyone out there these days are out to make the quick
buck instead of working for it. It is up to the consumers to make the correct
choice about the product. Yes, is true that companies twist a product so
consumers have to buy it, but the real truth is to make money, not to help
them. Consumers are the ones making the wrong choices and that is why some
companies are profitting millions each year. Companies produce products,
market them so consumers feel that they NEED it, and then out emotion,
insecurity, or compulsion they purchase it to feel satisfied. I believe that
90% of business men and companies out there today are in it for the money NOT
because they care about the consumers. I myself are in sales, and I will say
or do whatever to put a meal on the table for my family.
