I apologize, I guess finding evidence to back up any
claim that the leadership of this country lacks at
least a level of competency is probably hard to come
by!! You are also right that my opinions come from
my own point of view because I sure haven't heard
anyone else agree with my claims. Particularly people
who have first hand experience with dealing directly
with the president. I guess I must be basing all of
my judgment on bush's statement in the presidential
debate, when asked about his environmental track
record he actually said, "I guess you'd say I'm a
good steward of the land." That must be why his first
move as president was to pull out of the kyoto
agreement, why he relaxed the laws of allowable
mercury levels in rivers, why he has pursued the
continual use of fossil fuels, and why he has seen
resignations and damning reports from political
environmentalists as a result of his setting the
country back 20 years in the pursuit of cleaning the
environment up. It struck me as a stupid thing to
say. But maybe it was a little harsh. I can't think
of any other stupid things he has said!

Despite this I stand by my words that I respect the
good that dedicated polititions do for us and agree
that I would not care to put myself in their
situation, part for me, mostly for my family. I think
to attract the best people for the job (not that I
include myself in that group) will only be found when
the media is restrained at least a little from running
the political show.
