I think the BCS does have many of the same flaws that are present under
capitalism. Everyone has done a good job describing these similarities, so I
won't. I also think calling either (BCS or capitalism) "evil" is very
misleading. To me, in order to be evil, you must have the purpose to do harm
to someone or something. The BCS and capitalism exist to do good for a
select few, which, just happens to do harm to others. At worst I would call
them uncaring, callous or selfish. Evil is to big to waste on these ideas,
when there is so much else in the world that truly is evil. Capitalists
don't set out to screw the workers. That's not the reason they become
capitalists. It's incedental to their actual purpose, make lots and lots of
money for themselves. The BCS is not out to screw over non-BCS teams, but
just to ensure a large payday for BCS teams. I don't want a
misunderstanding, so I will add that just because they aren't evil does not
make them good. Both systems are flawed and do harm to others, whether
intended or not. But calling a thing "evil" only inflames arguements, it
will not stimulate debate. Being divisive will not solve problems.
