that's an interesting point about people would just rather socialize the servics
like dental and medical, in those cases it's pretty much the same thing. 

Rather, what about homeowners insurance, auto insurance? Auto insurance is
required by law if you want to own a car. Why is the government forcing us to
pay into private enterprise? 

The argument for private enterprise is usually that through a profit motive
things can be better organized. I don't really see the evidence though. 

But like Iamthefury says just the fact that insurance firms make money, make
insurance a bad deal. If the government eliminated that profit skimming, it's
assumed that cost would go down. I'm all for it.
