Subject: M-PSY: psychotic breakdown

I wonder if any of the UK subscribers saw the recent episode of the
most popular (and rather socially conscious) soap opera in
this country, which portrayed a psychotic breakdown in a young
man. Perhaps this would get round some of our confidentiality
problems.

The psychiatrist failed to make the diagnosis because he(?) did
not speak to the parents.

Was the representation true to life? Was it progessive?

Perhaps subscribers in other countries also have examples
of how the media treat psychosis.
