As we enter the new millennium the 'people's game' provides the most global opportunity for shared cultural experience. The aim of this event is to explore the love of football, its pleasures and frustrations, and the reasons for the game's rise to such prominence. Can the love of football contribute to a good society, and to good relations between nations and cultures? Participants will include academics, players, psychologists, journalists and fans.
