Yes, as a matter of fact. It is considered to be a "classic" in the field and is especially noteworthy in terms of _when_ it was written (1963). At the New School, Anwar Shaikh, in particular, was very influenced by Shane's dissertation and it was required reading for students in the PhD "area of concentration" in political economy. Even today, it is quite influential as can be seen from the writings of Shaikh/Tonak, Murray Smith, and others doing empirical work using Marxian value categories.
