If your interested in Marxology, then check-out an essay on "Socialism and ethics" by the founder of Marxology, Maximilien Rubel (Ch. 2 in Joseph O'Malley and Keith Algozin ed. _Rubel on Karl Marx: Five Essays_, Cambridge University Press, 1981).
