It used to be great before the powers that be at the list-server decided to reorganize it. Anything in particular you wanted to talk about? Just to intoduce myself and say a word about the only other regular poster to the list in recent weeks. I'm a law student at Ohio State University in Columbus, Ohio. I hope to be a labor lawyer or maybe a professor again. I used to be a philosophy professor, taught Marxism here at OSU, and was fired for being too red. Many on various Marxism lists think I'm hopelessly right wing because I'm an analytical Marxist who workers in style of Gerry Cohen, Jon Elster, John Roemer, etc, a market socialist, and an unabashed fan of liberal democracy, though not of its capitalist variant. I am intolerant of bad argument, rhetorical grandstanding, and chaep polemics. The other regular, Ralph Dumain, is even more eccentric than I. He's a librarian, I believem by profession, a scholar of CLR James, knowlgeabale about Hegel and Blake, and he thinks my politics are cranky and odd. I reciprocate. I respect him a lot. We used to have a lot more folks, but, as I say, the listserver shut us down. So, say something interesting or outrageous and maybe we'll attract some life again. --Justin --- from list marxism-thaxis-AT-lists.village.virginia.edu ---
