Out of respect for Jukka, I was ready to let this thread die (to be taken
up later on m-int or another forum). Anyway, I will briefly respond to
your comments by explaining why the issues _are_ important (and worth
reading).

(1) A person claiming to be a "marxist" has engaged in vile anti-labor
actions, both by publicly threatening to contact the employers of
listmembers and in at least one instance actually attempting to get that
person disciplined by management.

(2) That person claims that the above threats and actions were "jokes" but
that simply does not tally with the facts, i.e. _his own statements_ on
record in the m-int archives.

(3) When the moderators of m-int were informed of the above, they chose
not to seriously investigate those charges. Why? Because the person in
question (Louis N. Proyent) is a personal friend of theirs. Others, like
the vulgar empiricist D. Henwood, have also attempted to make excuses for
Proyent out of personal allegiance to him.

(4) Rather than punishing the culprit (Proyent), the moderators of m-int
(the three stooges) punished the person bringing the charges against
Proyent by suspending his ability to post to m-int for 2 weeks. What was
the reason given? The spokesperson for the three Proyent stooges said that
it was because of comments that this person said about m-int on m-thaxis.
This action by the moderators of m-int was not only in violation of m-int
rules (that they themselves drafted), but also sets a chilling precedent
for Spoons lists -- that being that if a person of one list
(m-thaxis) makes critical comments about another list (m-int) on another
list (m-thaxis), then the person can be suspended from posting to their
list (m-int). So much for freedom of speech on the Internet! So much for
the pretentious claims by the m-int moderators that they are opposed to
censorship! So much for principles!

Jerry
