Dumain,

I am dissappointed in your post. I cannot respond to things I have not
said or meant. Nor do I have the time to reproduce all the posts where I
buttressed my argument with extensive quotations, whereas you only read
one or two side posts and suggest I only offerred one small quote here or
there; I cannot be responible for the laziness of my opposition. It does
not advance the debate at all for somebody to claim I said something else,
articulate what I have argued as their own position, and have me come on
and point this out. This may be because some of my posts make it to this
list and some of them don't because of where the debate started out, etc.

In any event, my argument is cogent (the suggestion that it is confused
says a lot about the person trying to understand me), derived from Marx,
and bears little resemblance to the argument you have attributed to me.
Interestingly, until that post, and while I disagreed with your position,
at times I thought your arguments provided a nice critique of the
positivism that had been thus far presented as Marxism. I sense that you
wrecklessly attacked my position to seem fair to the other side? Nah, not
this. It seems more like, judging from your tone, that this post stems
>from a need to remain singularly special, since you will have retained
alone your novel interpretation of this body of knowledge? Everybody else
is either confused, a crackpot, or an asshole. (And it has been suggested
that *I* am arrogant.)

I only request that when you criticize my writing, that you read it, and
you try to be more systematic in your critique. If I am, as you say, a
mess, then you have left no room for yourself to even get washed
and dressed.

Andrew Austin
