To graft solutions to a system requiring a certain percentage of unemployed is comparable to solving the problems of crime by building more prisons. Though, in it's deus ex machina way, capitalism will solve this also. The Correctional Institute of America has calculated that by the turn of the century, 500,000 prison inmates will be producing goods for private industries worth 9 billion dollars. Naturally we can expect that a large percentage will be black. Then there is what Marx describes as "species alienation", that is, the social estrangement that results from an alienating work process, one that divides individuals from one another. And incidently, another eloquent Marxist is the black psychiatrist Frantz Fanon who described the alienation experienced by Algerians in their dealings with the French. [The Wretched of the Earth].
