Let me explain the technique I use when trying to find out references when I am doing research. Lately, I have gotten interested in the topic of feudalism and wanted to read a Marxist analysis of the middle ages. What I did was pore through the shelves trying to find books that included "class" in the title. Another technique is to turn to the back cover and look for blurbs that characterize the book. If the blurber is a leftists or if the blurb states something to the effect that the book is a study of class relations, I make a note of that. If I were you, I would do the following to get up to speed on Russia. I would get a hold of Moshe Lewin's book "Russia-USSR-Russia", which is just the kind you are looking for and then start reading it with an eye to what references he considered important. This is much more useful than surfining the Web. Louis Proyect On Sun, 28 Sep 1997, Rebecca Peoples wrote: > Hi folks, > > Can anyone help me. I desperately need information etc on Russia.
