I was on the phone this week with my friends at MR. I will not violate
their confidence by relating the hour's worth of conversation I had with
them, but trust me that they do not want to be identified with people who
produce television shows that use Gregg Easterbrook as an "expert". John
Bellamy Foster is on the Editorial Board of MR and he is a foe of
everything that people like Easterbrook stands for.

I am not interested in discussing "state capitalism" with you at this
point. There are tens of thousands of words on the subject from three
different occasions. My interest at this point is identifying and isolating
the virulent strand of neo-Larouchianism known as LM.

Furedi is the cult leader of a group that is working overtime to promote
imperialism's right to exploit Brazil, Indonesia, Nigeria, etc. without
interference from human rights and ecological organizations. Most Marxists
understand what they are up to, but people whose knowledge tends to be
rather bookish have trouble with this. You represent bookishness to the
point of folly.

You have asked them to respond to Postone's analysis? These right-wing
cultists won't even respond to the observation that their empirical
observations on deforestration and volcanic impact on the atmosphere are
based on lies. These are liars, Rakesh. I don't try to have dialogs with
liars, especially those who circulate the lies of Easterbrook, Limbaugh and
people on Larouche's staff. I instead isolate and expose them.
