The *less* definite memory is, the *more* it logically affects our daily life, as memory then becomes simply part of the "language" or larger paradigm through which we interpret our present experience. In that way, Freud is even more relevant. Analysis that focuses on changing the language with which we describe a past event or the logical paradigm against which we analyze it to more enlightened language and logic will have an enlightening effect on the way we conduct our lives. Hence the more memory is plastic and contextual, the more benefit there is to careful analysis of the form and context of memory. peace --- from list marxism-thaxis-AT-lists.village.virginia.edu ---
