Subject: M-TH: A world to win!

1848/1998
[while I'm on the job]

Rob taunts me with his prolixity,
Is the prose dense or am I?
My eyes bulge,
my memory strains,
and the old phrase comes
back again to haunt me:
"The History of all hitherto
existing society is
the history of class struggles".
True.
I can't shake it off.
Despite appearances
society still exists
You don't say!
and with it, our story.
We have a world to win!
True.
The world is still there.
Can we win?
Have we lost?
No!
True!
We won't lose unless we
demobilise ourselves
for the slaughter.
So what about the opening line?
"A spectre is haunting Europe -
 the spectre of Communism."
Well what about it?
Ask Jacques the Simpleton.
But would you believe Him?

Dave
