From: LeoCasey <LeoCasey-AT-aol.com> Date: Sun, 18 Jan 1998 23:54:28 EST Subject: M-TH: Not Radical Enough Justin accuses me of caricaturing his position, and then not content to use caricature himself, constantly raises his rhetorical voice, until he concludes with a ranting diatribe that makes caricature appear to be incredible understatement. I am now a supporter of the Vietnam War, the B-1 bomber, and anyone to the left of Ghengis Khan -- oops, what a minute, even some to the right of Ghengis Khan. << But Leo loves the Democrats. Like lots of alleged lefties, he will stick to them through Vietnam, the MX missile and the B-1 bomber, through NAFTA and GATT, because after all they are better than the GOP. Clinton is already far to the right of Nixon--if any Democratic candidate ran on the platform of what Nixon actually did, he'd be demonized as a communist--but Leo and his pals will stay true nonetheless. When a Democrat runs who is to the right of Reagan, Leo will be there to stuff the envelopes because the Republican candidate will be to the right of Ghengis Khan. And when a Democratic candidate runs who is to the right Ghengis Khan, Leo will still be there. >> This is a sorry display from someone who knows better, the kind of "polemic" that I would expect from a Malecki or a Hugh. It is a very poor excuse for a political argument. I will not respond in kind, and I will not pretend that there is anything substantive to respond to.
