Questions at the beginning of journal I got for Xmas. Any thoughts out
there?

    (1) What is the difference between State and Civil Society?

(1A) There is enormous ideological conformity in this country- How
does a Marxist propose to bridge the gulf between "revolution"
             and where we are now?

(1b) Who is to lead such an attempt?

     (2) What determines one's class? It seems to me that it can't be
merely an economic category, for the recent college grad. and
the twenty-two yr. old factory worker (probably) do not share
the same worldview, set of experiences, cultural values, etc.
The relationship to the means of production appears to be the
the central determinant, and so the question becomes whether
or not one creates, realizes or buys surplus value, doesn't it?

(2a) How does a Marxist explain the denial of class or why class
             denial is so wide-spread?

(2b) What do we mean by "middle class"?

     (3) Is there a difference between those who OWN wealth and those who
          administer it?

(3a) How do we explain the enormous political and social cynicism
of the citizens within the Soviet Union, Cuba, etc.?

(3b) To what extent has State Socialism created private citizens,
             ipso facto, non-citizens?
