Have you forgotten Trotsky on the Ukraine? I think it's best to assume that no-one knows anything about any of this -- from the independence of Finland in 1917 and the Georgian campaign in Lenin's last months to the huge questions of the nationalist aspects of China and Spain. Give us your take on the Ukrainian events. Cheers, Hugh PS Dave asks James >And what about Kosovo? But he won't get an answer, because LM has no understanding of the forces at work in issues like this (the Basque country, Ireland etc etc), as Dave so clearly demonstrates. Basically it's the Stalinist Two-Stage utopia at work. First the bourgeois democratic stage in all its glory, then and only then the socialist revolution. And when nasty little pockets of pus like Ireland, the Basque country or Kosova refuse to homogenize and go away, we tut-tut a bit and say they're all mad or terrorists. And go back to reading the Telegraph over our toast and marmelade. -h --- from list marxism-thaxis-AT-lists.village.virginia.edu ---
