Dear Charles B,

I assumed that your talk about "Flippant, archaic-libertine proposals by men,
such as for utopian brothels" referred to something actually at hand, and
specifically to my flippant proposal. Was I wrong? If it did, then your
knee-jerk assumption that it was made "by men" is a little -- how shall
I put it? -- a little knee-jerk. Hence my question. To which I don't
understand your answer:

> Are you saying that if women proposed utopian > brothels would it tighten the lid, etc., that's a difference kettle of > fish, however, you are going to have to bring me some programmatic > statement from an actual group of women proposing this. And more, the > overall opinion of the masses of women on the proposal must be considered. > We don't want any tyrannies of the minority.

I didn't realize that _you_, in your "critique" of the "flippant proposals"
were referring to any "programmtic statement from an actual group"
(of men). I thought you were referring to yesterday's posts to this here list.
So why this sudden demand for "a programmatic statement from an actual group
of women"? If your critique was based on the incorrect assumption that the
"proposal" was written by a man, then pointing out the incorrectness of the
assumtpion should at least make you think, no?

> Why do you think respect, passion and love for an entire group is
> difficult?

I don't know whether it's difficult or not, because I don't know what it means.
Why should women, as a group, be respected or loved? Because they have cunts
and tits? That's the only group characteristic I can think of. I don't
ordinarily think of the possession of certain body parts as a reason for
respect or love. Doesn't it matter, when one considers respect, love, and
passion, who the person is? How they act? How they think? How they treat
others? Isn't the problem with misogyny exactly that it denies the validity
of these questions when applied to women? That it, so to speak, bypasses these
questions? And does not your trumpet call for "respect, love and passion"
bypass them as well? If not, please explain.

> And guess what I have do not hesitate to say that I am looking for
> respect, passion and love back.

If you want respect, love and passion from me, you will have to do more than
claim belonging to some sex or race or species. Sorry.

> Hey what about humanism ? Do you think it a wild goose chase to try
> to respect, etc humanity as a whole ?

What does this mean? You mean, as opposed to squirrels or sloths or maple
trees? What exactly should I respect humanity as a whole _for_?
