From: "Rosser Jr, John Barkley" <rosserjb-AT-jmu.edu> Subject: M-TH: Re: OPE-L Date: Tue, 5 May 1998 18:41:30 -0400 (Eastern Daylight Time) Gee, I guess I am not supposed to respond to this since Bill Cochrane called a bunch of us BASTARDS and declared FUCK YOU and said we weren't supposed to talk about any of this anymore. Gosh. For the record I do not bear Jerry Levy any ill will about the OPE-L matter, rather more a matter of bemusement. I certainly know lots of the people on his list personally. It is my memory that what I reported was correct about OPE-L, but I stand to be corrected if I am wrong. Maybe Jerry should clear the air on this matter publicly, since I have brought it up (which, if I remember correctly, Jerry had asked me not to), although obviously that drongo fuckwit of a moderator would be unhappy if he does.... I guess I do see some contradictions in Jerry's attitudes about the various lists, which have been articulated forcefully by others, but I guess that is for him to sort out. Certainly he has the right to do with his own list what he wants, just as Doug Henwood has the right to do what he wants with his own list. As for my life, it is partly because it has been rather complicated (and Jerry hasn't heard the half of it, and I don't generally go on about such things on these lists, unlike some people) that I am confused and don't know "what I am." Jerry certainly is free to publish whatever I told him if I kick. A lot of those discussions went on around the time of the unfortunate, untimely, and much-mourned death of Lisa Rogers, whom many of us miss much.
