Subject: Introductions

Hi,

I am an Australian Post-Keynesian economist with a strong interest in Marx,
and a very unusual take on his theory of value which makes me a critic of
the labor theory of value, but a strong fan of dialectics. My current
interests are in simulating the dynamics of a capitalist economy with a
developed finance sector.

I'm also massively over-committed on a number of tasks which accumulated
while I was completing my PhD (I still owe Chris Sciabarra a book review,
for one!), so I expect to be a very sporadic contributor to this list.

I was fairly active, during the halcyon days of full-time PhD work, on the
marxism list. However time commitments, and I must say difficulties with
some list members, led me to eventually drop out.

Actually, there was only one list member that I had real problems with, and
I notice he's been nominated by a few people for this list--Juan Inigo. If
conversations with him develop as they did on the old marxism list, then I
may well decide to leave this list too. But we will have to wait and see.

Cheers,
Steve
