Nietzsche was neither a racist, nor a proto-fascist. Heidegger is more ambiguous case (though I believe there to be some connection between his philosophy and his nazi party membership). My concern is, however, in the fact of weird trends of constructing in new ways old hate relationships. Then again, being a member of one collective with a shameful past, I might be too sensitive... " Probably the aim is to draw attention to the particularly strong, particularly influential, tradition of irrationalism in German philosophy over the last century or so, and possibly to intimate a connection between that tradition and the success of Nazism. There's nothing "neo-racist" about that. " By the way, David, I'm still working on it... actually I've already read your "Ideology" but haven't found convenient moment to concentrate on it. Hopefully very soon - "Nouveaux week" began today throughout Europe, and one way of enjoying it is to leave the others, take a glass with and sit down in front of peecee... Jukka L
