RE Louis N Proyect's comments on the "real-world" use of academics and academic
discussions:
I am not well versed in Marx's writings but I have a very foggy memory of once
reading or hearing that one of his points was that any revolutionary movement c
ould only be viable when certain groups of bourgoisie (academics perhaps?) join
ed with the proletariat.  Is this an accurate summary of his point?  While the
Ivory Tower argument Louis is making has its merits, doesnt it also produce a s
elf-defeating "Im more revolutionary than you" attitude on the left?
