Note of assent to Jukka Laari--this seems precisely the case to
me as well, especially while I've been reconsidering Laclau &
Mouffe's contribution to contemporary Marxian work. It scarcely
seems possible (or prudent) to underestimate this contribution.
There are, indeed, many others as well who have taken Marx in
more productive directions than his "creative" but limited
readers (Lenin, Stalin, Mao, etc.).  I wonder what Phil
Goldstein's point is in attempting to draw close, meaningful(?)
connections between Marx and Stalin...can you explain your
motivation, Phil?  Your concerns sound much more reminiscent of
_Masters of Deceit_ than _Hegemony and Socialist Strategy_ :)
Just curious...

At least we're getting away from LTV-speak for a change.  Anyoen
have thoughts--now that Jukka's brought him up, so to
speak--about how Zizek's contribution(s) might relate to this
current matter?
