The 2nd edition (1973) includes a preface and an afterword with extensive revisions to Meek's 1953 position (and consideration of the Sraffian critique of Marx) which should not be neglected. "In my more heretical moods, I sometimes wonder whether much of real importance would be lost from the Marxian system if the quantitative side of the analysis of relative prices were conducted in something like the traditional supply and demand apparatus-*provided* that the socio-economic relationships emphasised by Marx were fully recognised ... and ... postulated as lying behind the supply and demand schedules themselves." (p. 311.) Cheers, Steve Keen ------------------
